What presentations stood out at Cloud Tech 2024? Read on to find out! We also invite you to watch the summary video featuring the most memorable moments:
Highlights
Start of Cloud Tech 2024: speech by Roman Filobok, CEO of Wise IT

In his opening speech, Roman drew attention to the rapid evolution of the Cloud Tech conference. Unlike last year’s event, which was dedicated to the first steps in the implementation of AI, this year the event focuses on the results and experiences of real implementations. In 2024, the Cloud Tech conference became a platform for discussing achievements, conclusions and new challenges arising in the process of integrating solutions.
Diia City – a government space for the development of innovative technologies.

Valeria Kushnerchuk, CEO of Diia.City.Union, delivered a presentation that highlighted aspects of collaboration within the Diia.City residents’ association. The organization aims to create a robust IT industry in Ukraine that competes successfully on the international stage and fosters innovation worldwide. Valeria’s presentation emphasized the mission of this association and the importance of mutual support and synergy. She also discussed the conditions for joining the association and the benefits that residents are already receiving.
Successful experience and practical application of innovative Google solutions for global and Ukrainian companies
The field of artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving, and the pace of this growth is continuously increasing. Every day, new projects emerge, opening up new horizons for the use of Generative AI. The next segment of presentations, prepared by an international team from Google, focused on successful cases that creatively leverage innovations from Google Cloud. The following speakers participated in this segment:

Alin Bittel, Head of Sales, CEE Public Sector, Google Cloud, talked about promising technologies that will be useful to the public sector, and also shared examples where the specified solutions have already been implemented. Among the most interesting use cases of Google Cloud:
- Geospatial solutions for building complex environmental models
- Automatic verification of documents to detect fraud
- Intelligent digitization and systematization of paper documentation with Document AI;
- Contact centers with artificial intelligence;

Anna Doroshenko, Enterprise Account Executive, Google Cloud, introduced the participants to Google’s portfolio of AI solutions, and also talked about already implemented projects in Ukraine:
- AI financial consultant for one of the leading Ukrainian banks;
- Use of Vertex AI with BigQuery data by large manufacturing holdings to automate reports;
- Optimization of advertising activities of one of the famous ecommerce players with Vertex AI.

Ella Kapsomun, SMB Account manager, Google Cloud, demonstrated global success stories related to generative AI. Among the standout examples:
- an application that assesses the risk of skin cancer from a photo;
- contextual search for the aggregator of products from various marketplaces;
- spam traffic filtering with intelligent bot detection.
Artificial intelligence as a powerful tool for optimizing work processes
Vlad Patenko, Customer Engineering Manager of Google Cloud, presented the latest developments of the cloud technology giant in the field of artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

One of the key highlights of the presentation was the distinction between Predictive AI and Generative AI:
- Predictive AI is used to predict future outcomes based on existing data. It works by analyzing historical data, identifying patterns and using statistical models to predict what might happen next. Predictive AI can perform quality control in manufacturing, forecast product demand, and provide other business intelligence.
- Generative AI, on the other hand, creates new content or data, such as text, images or music, based on learning from a large number of examples. Instead of predicting, it is more focused on creating something new. An example of such solutions is corporate AI chats for customer support.
It is the combination of predictive and generative artificial intelligence, which complement each other, that allows for the full realization of automation potential in workflows. The AI platform in Google Cloud implements this approach and unlocks incredible potential for complex procedures that are carried out entirely automatically.
In his speech, Vlad Patenko discussed in detail the possibilities of complex and multimodal artificial intelligence and talked about the procedure for training and retraining custom models.
The discussion also covered the hardware on which Google Cloud’s computational processes are performed. New and already available high-performance server and networking solutions were presented. These innovations can increase computing power by up to four times (TPU v5p) and double the bandwidth (A3 Mega VMs).
Successful cases of the implementation of cloud solutions from the first hand of leading Ukrainian companies
The presentations of IT managers of organizations — industry leaders of Ukraine — were incredibly interesting and full of valuable information. Speakers were:
- Oleg Poligenko (CISO Nova Digital)
- Yevhen Moyseyenko (Director of the Department of Management and Development of Information Systems, Sense Bank)
- Valentin Nadtocheev (Director of the IT Department, Suspilne Media)
IT leaders talked about the unique path of cloud migration of each company. The presentations were filled with important technical nuances and useful insights based on actual practical experience.

About the Google Cloud ecosystem and the possibilities of its integration with third-party solutions
Complex issues of integration of third-party solutions into Google’s infrastructure were taken on by leading experts from VMware and NetApp. Dmytro Udovik, CTO of Wise IT, moderated this block of speeches.
Oleksandr Kupchynetskyi, Lead Solution Engineer of VMware by Broadcom, presented the current range of possibilities for migrating VMware virtualized environments to Google Cloud.
Anton Kirylenko, a technical specialist at NetApp, talked about how local storage can be integrated into the cloud ecosystem, as well as what to do if compliance requires “returning to the ground”.

Panel discussion “Generative AI — hype or reality?”
The year 2024 was marked by the active implementation of AI solutions in the infrastructure and work processes of millions of organizations, and interest in the technology is at an all-time high. Does AI really benefit business? What are the disadvantages and pitfalls of using the technology? Is generative AI a hype or a real working tool? The answers to these questions were provided by IT leaders of prominent Ukrainian organizations:
- Oleg Poligenko (CISO Nova Digital);
- Margarita Ochigawa (Tranzzo CEO);
- Olga Semchuk (Fishka CEO);
- Valentin Nadtocheev (Director of the IT Department, NSTU)
Oleksandr Kozub, the head of Wise IT’s cloud solutions department, acted as moderator, and Vlad Patenko, the Custom Engineering Manager with Google Cloud, moderated the discussion.

4 demo zones were presented at the location of the event
The best way to evaluate a technology is to test it in action. The Wise IT Cloud team prepared demo zones that allowed participants to experience Google’s generative AI, the capabilities of the Google Cloud console, the corporate ecosystem of Chrome OS, and Google Workspace’s artificial intelligence! This year, our specialists were joined by colleagues from the financial platform Tranzzo and the loyalty program Fishka, who built their own infrastructure on Google Cloud and were excited to present their technological and business offerings.
