Zebra Ticket Scanning Terminals for the Planeta Kino Cinema Network
Planeta Kino is a cinema chain in Ukraine with 11 cinemas across 6 cities (Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Sumy), together hosting 80 screens. Planeta Kino has 5 IMAX theaters (one of them IMAX with Laser), 5 4DX theaters, and 4 RE’LUX cinema restaurants (a total of 15 halls across 4 cinemas: Blockbuster and River Mall in Kyiv, Planeta Kino on Tairova in Odesa, and Leoland in Lviv).
They were the first to bring Canadian IMAX technology to Ukraine and are also the exclusive representative of 4DX technology.

Planeta Kino needed to find professional equipment for ticket scanning.
RESULT:
Wise IT successfully implemented Zebra data collection terminals — professional equipment for fast barcode and QR code scanning. The project included testing, full technical support, and solving the business task within a short timeframe, with further plans to expand the device fleet across all cinemas.
Business Challenge
Planeta Kino reached out to Wise IT with a request to select and configure Android-based devices with a built-in scanner. The main need was fast ticket scanning, since scanning with employees’ regular smartphones was often slow, causing delays at the cinema entrance.
Solution
The Wise IT team tested different models of Zebra data collection terminals. The client received full technical support both during testing and after the implementation of the equipment.
The testing was successful, and the functionality of the Zebra TC21 data collection terminals fully met the client’s needs. A contract was signed, and the client began purchasing equipment. Currently, Planeta Kino manages 50 devices, with plans to purchase additional equipment for all cinemas in the network.
Result
Testing the SOTI MobiControl solution during the pilot project was successful, confirming that it met the client’s requirements.
As a result, Planeta Kino received a comprehensive solution that allowed them to efficiently manage devices, reduce the time needed to resolve employee issues, and easily scale the solution across all cinemas in the network.
